Haindl Rune Oracle

[Gebo] [Tyr]
Runes are an ancient alphabet used for centuries as an oracle. Rune characters are carved on stones, clay or wood and then thrown to create a reading. The Haindl Rune Oracle deck contains the 25 traditional runes on cards. Each one shows the rune symbol, name, number, associated letter(s) and a painting by Hermann Haindl, the artist of the Haindl Tarot Deck. The images are a "pictorial vision of...runic qualities...only partially expressible in words." Each image incorporates the associated runic symbol in some way. The instruction booklet offers interpretations (both upright and inverted (reversed)) as well as some suggested layouts. There is a separate companion book for this deck called Haindl Rune Oracle: Divination by Runes Using the Haindl Rune Cards.
