Exercise 8.1 - First Question Reading

If this is your first reading, I suggest using the Quick Insight Spread. This is a good spread to begin with because it only has three cards, yet it still offers useful insight and guidance. You may want to have a copy of this spread's description page close by to refer to.

Be sure to read lesson 8 once all the way through before you start so you're familiar with the steps. Now follow the procedure from start to finish. If you like, you can work from the step-by-step outline.

At first, a full reading will probably take at least thirty minutes. With experience, you will be able to shorten this time, if you wish, but it is always better to feel unhurried and uninterrupted.

You will need a question to be answered. You can use the question you wrote in Exercise 7.1 or write a new one.

Interpret the cards as best you can using your intuition and the Card Section. You may feel a little at sea this first time - not sure whether or not you're doing everything right. Remember there is no one correct interpretation. What you see in the cards is right for you by definition, and, no matter what, you will come away with something of value. In future lessons, you will learn some principles of interpretation that will help you feel more confident. At that point, we'll revisit this reading to see what else you can learn from it.
